Workshop on Location Sound held at ULAB

A workshop on "Location Sound" held at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), which was arranged by ULAB‍‍`s Film Apprentice Program "CinemaScope".

Starting on Thursday the three-day long workshop was conducted by renowned sound recordist of Bangladeshi film industry Nahid Masud. 

Participants from all over the capital registered and joined this engaging workshop to learn more about the cinematic experience of capturing sound, said a press release.

Nahid Masud covered advanced techniques for recording dialogue, sound effects, and ambience, as well as best practices for using microphones, recording equipment, and other tools along with using editing software for sound modification and creation. 

During the workshop Masud said, “Working with sound is a fascinating experience, although the Bangladeshi film industry does not really focus on sound which is changing. Youth must come forward for that.” 

Participants expressed their enthusiasm that CinemaScope may organize more events like this.

Masud worked with award-winning filmmakers of our country including Tareque Masud, Cathrine Masud, Morshedul Islam, Tanveer Mokammel, Zahidur Rahim Anjan, Akram Khan. He recorded location sound for the mivies: "Runway", "Priyotomeshu", "Meghmallar" "Ghashful" and so on. He also worked with BBC Media Action, BBC One, CBC Canada, Al Jazeera Television for their documentary films.
