Government primary schools asked to halt daily assemblies due to heatwave

Due to the continuing heatwave, the government has ordered that daily assemblies be halted at all of the nation‍‍`s primary schools until further notice.

In this regard, the Assistant Director (Policy and Operations, Integrated Education), Md. Touhidul Islam, signed a notification from the Directorate of Primary and Mass Education. 

He declared that school administrators will abide by this directive starting on April 21, when classes resume.

Amid the extreme heat, this decision was made to protect the health of the pupils. 

A serious heatwave is affecting Khulna division and the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, and Tangail, according to a bulletin from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department that was released on Saturday 9am. 

According to the advisory, a mild to moderate heatwave is affecting the districts of Chandpur and Moulvibazar, the Barisal division, and the remaining portions of Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions, the bulletin added.
