Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh and her Thai counterpart, Prime Minister Sretha Thavisin, convened for a summit meeting where discussions prominently featured sectors such as shipping, hospital services, and pharmaceuticals. Following the summit on Friday morning, Sheikh Hasina reiterated these focal points during a joint press conference.

In her remarks, the Prime Minister underscored the significance of bilateral agreements, revealing that a series of MoUs had been finalized between the two nations. These agreements spanned crucial areas such as energy and tourism. Furthermore, Thailand expressed interest in establishing special economic zones and advanced technology parks. Notably, discussions also centered on enhancing investment opportunities in Bangladesh, with active participation from Thai business delegates.

Upon her arrival at the Government House at 10:30 am local time, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was graciously received by her Thai counterpart. The warm reception unfolded on the verdant front lawn of the Thai Kuh Fah Building, symbolizing the amicable relations between the two nations.

In a ceremonial display of respect, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was accorded a guard of honor by a smart contingent of the Thai Armed Forces. This gesture underscored the mutual esteem and camaraderie shared between Bangladesh and Thailand.

During the visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina engaged in substantive discussions with Thai officials, including Prime Minister Sretha Thavisin.
