Commencing May 4th, Saturday classes will resume, marking a departure from their previous status as off-days. However, the Ministry of Education has not yet reached a decision regarding the extension of holidays beyond April 28, despite the prevailing high temperatures.

Confirming this development, Mohammad Abul Khair, the Ministry‍‍`s Information and Public Relations Officer, stated to TheReport.Live on Thursday afternoon.

Simultaneously, the Meteorological Office issued a ‍‍`heat alert,‍‍` cautioning of prolonged heatwaves over the next three days.

The decision to extend classes follows a heatwave on April 20, prompting the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and Education to declare holidays for all schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical educational institutions.

Originally slated to reopen on April 21, educational institutions are now set to resume activities on April 28. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education had previously announced closures from April 21-27 for government primary schools, Child Welfare Trust schools, and non-formal education bureau learning centers, prioritizing children‍‍`s health and safety amidst the scorching temperatures.
