With each passing day, the heat continues to rise, prompting Afrin to advocate for extended holidays in educational institutions. Additionally, plans are underway to plant two lakh trees along the city`s roads as a measure to combat the heat.
In an interview with a local media outlet, Afrin stressed the significance of afforestation in urban areas, emphasizing the need for more green spaces and parks. She highlighted the adverse effects of deforestation, noting that nearly 80 percent of trees in Dhaka city have been felled, exacerbating temperature rise and contributing to various environmental challenges.
