Bus conductor thrashes female DU student

A female student of Dhaka University (DU) was thrashed by a conductor of ‘Taranga Plus’ bus on Thursday (October 7) night at the D block bus stand of Banasree, in the capital. 

The victim Rafia Tamanna, a fourth year student of Mass Communication and Journalism Department at Dhaka University, filed a general diary with Rampura Police Station.

The general diary reads, “Dhaka Metro ‘B’ 15-7778 conductor was continuously harassing the victim since she got into the bus. At one point, the victim slapt the conductor, then the conductor several times hit her in the face.”  

Rampura Police Station officer-in-charge said, “After receiving the general diary copy we took the accused to the police station.”

“The procedure will be going under the law.”

Rampura police station OC said, the accused has denied beating the university student. Accoding to the bus conductor, the female student fell to the ground at point point of the heated argument. 

Rafia Tamann said, “I want justice and I’m waiting for it.”
