A tragic turn of events has taken place in the investigation of the recent shooting incident outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan‍‍`s Bandra residence. Anuj Thapan, one of the accused allegedly involved in supplying the weapons used in the attack, was found dead by suicide while in police custody. This shocking development has cast a shadow over the ongoing investigation.

Anuj Thapan, aged 32, reportedly took his own life in a lock-up toilet despite being under police supervision. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation. Former police officer PK Jain emphasized the need to treat such incidents as murder cases and thoroughly questioned all officers present. He stressed the importance of routinely checking lock-ups for any objects that could be used for self-harm.

The four accused individuals, including Thapan, are believed to be linked to notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, known for his involvement in serious crimes such as kidnapping, murder, and drug trafficking. The Mumbai Crime Branch has gathered compelling evidence against Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi, naming them as prime suspects in the case.

Anmol Bishnoi allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack, citing a longstanding feud between the Bishnoi gang and Salman Khan dating back to a blackbuck poaching case in 1998. Following the incident, Salman Khan‍‍`s security detail was significantly bolstered, elevating it to the Y-plus category, one of the highest levels of protection in India. Khan was also granted permission to carry a firearm and reportedly acquired an armored vehicle for added safety.

The arrest of the shooters, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, occurred shortly after the incident. CCTV footage captured them fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Further investigation led the police to recover two pistols, magazines, and bullets believed to be the weapons used in the attack from Gujarat‍‍`s Tapi River. Gupta and Pal were initially remanded in police custody until April 29 to allow for a deeper probe into the motive behind the attack.

The Mumbai Police continue to delve into the complexities of this case, determined to bring justice to those involved in the shocking shooting incident outside Salman Khan‍‍`s residence.
