Storm, heavy rainfall forecasted across 5 divisions including Dhaka

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of storms and heavy rainfall across the country, including the capital Dhaka. They anticipate an increase in precipitation accompanied by a decrease in temperature.

This information about the upcoming weather conditions for the next three days was disclosed on Thursday (May 2).

According to the forecast, temporary storms with or without rainfall and thunderstorms may occur in some places of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, as well as in Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Barishal divisions. Additionally, scattered hailstorms may occur in some areas. Moreover, partially cloudy skies with dry weather are likely to prevail elsewhere in the country.

Furthermore, it‍‍`s been forecasted for the next five days that the intensity of rainfall may increase, and temperatures may decrease, leading to a relief from the heat in various areas.

The Department of Meteorology also revealed that intense heatwaves are affecting Jessore, Khulna, Chuadanga, Pabna, and Rajshahi districts, and there‍‍`s a severe heatwave over Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj districts, and some parts of Khulna division. Besides, moderate to mild heatwaves are being observed in other parts of the country, and it may alleviate in some places in the eastern region.

In the western regions of the country, daytime temperatures may slightly decrease, while elsewhere in the country, temperatures may drop by 1-2 degrees Celsius. Additionally, nighttime temperatures across the country are expected to remain largely unchanged.
