Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir BNP Secretary General and Mirza Abbas standing committee member have sought bail today in a case over the December-7 clash between law enforcers and BNP men.
Five other party leaders have also applied for bail.
The five other BNP leaders are Abdus Salam, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Fazlul Haque Milon and Selim Reza Habib.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jashim sent Fakhrul and Abbas to jail in the case, rejecting their bail petitions on December 9.
The case was filed with Paltan Model Police Station on December 8, 2022.
The two BNP leaders were shown arrested on the charges of provoking party members to launch an attack on police.
