Rail communication between Dhaka and Mymensingh has been suspended as a bogie of Dhaka-bound ‘Bhawal Express’ train derailed in Rajendrapur area of Gazipur.
Confirming the matter Shahidul Islam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Joydebpur Railway police, said a bogie of Dhaka-bound ‘Bhawal Express’ train from Mymensingh veered off the tracks, halting train services on the route.
“A total of four wheels of the train derailed before it reached Rajendraur station around 9:30 am Thursday leading three compartments of the train derailed,” added he.
The derailment kept Dhaka-bound commuter and Mymensingh-bound Mohua Express waiting at Sripur station and Gazipur station respectively.
