The authorities fastened broadcasting of 59 unregistered and illegal Internet Protocol (IP) TV.
The information was disclosed in a gazette notification issued by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Sunday (September 19).
BTRC said, the notification has been issued to clarify various aspects regarding IP TV services. According to the notification, IP TV is the process of publishing Television content through internet protocol network.
BTRC said, it only approves IP TV to IP based services (like streaming service, IP TV, Video on Demand) to the licensed Internet Service Provider (ISP).
ISP can broadcast IP TV based on approval of the information ministry.
BTRC claimed to have found some unscrupulous traders who buy domain and broadcast television content unlawfully on social media platforms like facebook or youtube.
