State minister for shipping pays tribute to Bangabandhu

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj, reports BSS.

After laying the wreath, the state minister stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation on Friday.

Later, he offered a doa seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.

Secretary of the shipping ministry Mustafa Kamal, Chairman of Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, Chairman of Mongla Port Authority Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, Chairman of Payra Port Authority Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail, Chairman of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Ahmad Shamim Al Razi, Chairman of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Commodore Golam Sadek, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation Managing Director Commodore SM Moniruzzaman, Director General (DG) of Shipping Department Commodore Md. Nizamul Haque and Member of Bangladesh Land Port Authority (Traffic) Jahangir Kabir, among others, were present.
