Two boys drowned in the Chaktai Canal in Chattogram city's Bakalia area on Saturday, reports BSS.
The deceased were Mamun, 18, and Hridoy, 13, hailed from Mohazer colony area under Bakalia thana.
Md Nuruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Bakalia Thana, said that the victims Jumped into the cannel from a four-story building during the tide in Lohar bridge area of Khatungonj at about 1 pm.
Fire fighters with the help of locals rescued the victims in an unconscious state and sent them to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) at 2.30 pm where the attending doctors declared them death, hospital sources said.
