An allegation has been made against Manik Mia, prison guard of Dhaka Central Prison, Keraniganj that he arranged family visits and  hospitality for prisoners in medical facilities in exchange for money.

One of them is suffering from abdominal pain and another is suffering from breathing problem. Prison guard Manik Mia called the family members of the prisoners to meet them at the medical center.

A prison guard, who did not want to be named, said that Manik Mia brought prisoners to the hospital several times. Not only that, he help them talk to their relatives on mobile every now and then.

While talking about this with Rozina, a patient admitted to room 701. She said, “The patient who was brought by the police the other day, his wife and child also came to see him. They also brought home cooked food. However, while they were leaving, there was an extreme quarrel with the police over money. Later, another policeman seemed to have stopped the fight.”
