Toll collection on Padma multi-purpose bridge has crossed Tk 800 crore milestone. Syed Rajab Ali, Executive Engineer of the project, confirmed this information to reporters yesterday.
According to related sources, 5 lakh 24 thousand 538 vehicles crossed the bridge through Mawa Toll Plaza from June 26 to August 6. 50 crore 72 lakh 93 thousand 850 taka has been collected in this.
On the other hand, 379 thousand 302 vehicles passed through Jazira Toll Plaza. 50 crore 36 lakh 20 thousand 550 thousand taka has been collected.
A total of Tk 101 crore 9 lakh 14 thousand 400 toll has been collected from two toll plazas till Saturday. 7 lakh 97 thousand 815 vehicles crossed during this time.
According to the website of Bangladesh Bridge Authority, till Friday (August 5), the total toll collected on Padma Bridge was 99 crore 7 lakh 83 thousand 400 taka. 7 lakh 45 thousand 349 vehicles crossed.
Before the construction of the Padma Bridge, it was predicted that around 24,000 vehicles would pass through the bridge per day. However, as of the last few days, about 20,000 vehicles are passing through the bridge.
