Ahead of Eid al-Adha, Bangladesh eyes importing animals from Brazil, as proposed by Commerce State Minister Ahsanul Islam Titu during a meeting with visiting Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira.

Confirming the proposal, Titu spoke to reporters after the Sunday meeting, stating, "Brazil is interested in exporting meat products to Bangladesh at a low price. However, it is proposed to import animals from Brazil rather than meat products. These animals will be imported from Brazil in view of Eid al-Adha."

In addition to the animal import proposal, the state minister for commerce also sought duty-free facilities for garments exported from Brazil.

The meeting took place as Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira commenced his two-day visit to Dhaka, arriving at 10:30 am on Sunday. This exchange reflects Bangladesh‍‍`s proactive approach to securing livestock resources for the upcoming Eid festivities and exploring avenues for bilateral trade with Brazil.
