Seven sued for gang-rape of tourist in Cox's Bazar

The victim who survived gang-rape, and her husband has filed a case over the horrendous incident that raised a flurry of rage among citizens since last night. 

The case was filed with Sadar police station against four named and three other unnamed persons on Thursday (December 23) night, according to media reports. 

Meanwhile, Tourist Police has already started their probe on the incident. Along with Tourist Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) is also investigating the matter. 

The accused in the rape case are: Ariful Islam Ashiq, Babu, Israfil and Riaz Uddin.

A group of miscreants raped a woman who was on a tour in Cox's Bazar with her husband and child. At first they took away her husband and child, and sexually assaulted her in a sequestered place. Then, they took her to a hotel and raped her in turns. 

The victim was rescued by RAB on Thursday afternoon. 

Students groups have taken to the streets to protest the incident. Many people also took it to social media to condemn the atrocious incident, and questioned the safety measures in one of the country's most popular tourist destinations.
