A 45-year-old mentally-challenged man has died in a fire that broke out on the fifth floor of a building in Dhaka's Khilgaon area on Thursday night.
The deceased is Abdul Hai Jamali Bipu.
The fire broke out at around 7:56pm, in a room on the building's rooftop, said his brother, Abu Sayeed Shohag, and fire service.
Two firefighting units, however, managed to douse the blaze at 8:20pm.
Fire service officials suspect the fire may have started from a cigarette.
