DU library reopens after 18 months closure

Dhaka University central library reopened Sunday (September 26) after a closure of 18 months. Students of Hons’ final year and masters are allowed to enter the library. Student dormitories will reopen on October 5.

The decision was taken during a syndicate meeting of the university presided by its vice-chancellor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on September 18.

According to the decision, 4th year undergrad students and postgrad are eligible to use the university library in compliance with coronavirus vaccine inoculation and maintaining other safety protocols. Vaccine certificates and university ID cards must be shown.

Students from Sunday can use the central library, science library, and seminar libraries of the respective department/institute from 10 am to 5 pm every day.

On the other hand, students can resume to halls at 8 am on October 5. All students and staff must carry vaccine certificates.

Based on receiving coronavirus vaccines other students will be eligible to return to their dormitories. They have been asked to take the vaccine within September 27.
