Dead body of a newborn was recovered from the bungalow of Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor ASM Maksud Kamal.

It was recovered from the side of the wall adjacent to Ruqayyah Hall staff quarters around 12.30pm on Thursday (February 29).

Later, the newborn was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with the help of police officers of Shahbag Police Station. Mozammel Haque, the caretaker of VC Bungalow said, "The cleaners suddenly heard something falling from the road on the other side of the wall. They saw a bag lying ahead. They were afraid that it might be a bomb or something. After opening a bit with a stick, the newborn‍‍`s head came out. Later they informed me."

"I went there and saw the terrible situation. It was horrible! No normal person can tolerate this. Someone threw the body from the other side of the wall. Later we informed the police. They came and took away the body", added the caretaker.
