10 held over killing 7 Rohingya in Cox’s Bazar

As many as 10 people have been detained over the murder of seven Rohingya people in Cox’s Bazar shelter camp.

The detention was made during separate drives launched by police and members of Armed Police at the Rohingya camps.

The detainees are Mujibur Rahman (19), Dildar Mabud alias Parvej (32), Mohammed Ayub (37), Ferdous Amin (40), Abdl Majid (24), Mohammed Amin (35), Mohammed Younus alias Foyez (25), Zafar Alam (45), Mohammed Zahid (40) and Mohammed Amin (48).

Mujibur Rahman was caught red-handed with firearms and was sued in a case under weapon act with Ukhia police station.

Earlier, a case was filed with Ukhia station on Saturday midnight over the murder of seven people at a Rohingya madrasa in Balukhali camp of Cox’s Bazar.

Father of madrasa student Ajizul Haque, Nurul Islam, filed the case as a plaintiff.

Confirming the matter Additional Superintendent of Cox’s Bazar police Md. Rafiqul Islam said, the case was filed against 250 people while 25 people were named and the rest are unknown.
