Bangladesh Student Rights Council has burnt today the effigy of Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) demanding his step down.
After a rally at the anti-terrorism Raju Memorial Sculpture, they had a protest procession at the campus then they burnt the effigy in front of Dhaka University Snacks (DUS) at around 7.30.
President of the organization expressed the solidarity with the agitating students of SUST. He said, “The VC have to resign by 24 hours and the Home Minister should express his condolence for the police attack on the students.”
He also urged the government not to annoy students.
Besides, a group of former students of SUST hold human chain at the foot of Raju sculpture of the university at 6:30 pm demanding the same.
