Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga came out of Test  retirement. He will be seen in a white jersey on the ongoing tour of Bangladesh. By including Hasaranga, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced the squad for the upcoming two-match series against Bangladesh.

Because of this return, he will miss the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 till April 3. He was roped in by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the IPL 2024 auction for his base price of INR 1.50 crore, which came as a surprise to many as he was one of the hottest properties in the auction pool.

This Lankan leg spinner made his debut in a white jersey in 2020. But in order to focus more and more on limited over cricket after playing only 4 match he announced his retirement. Before announcing his retirement, he played his last match against Bangladesh in Pallkelle. But now he is returning in white clothes again against Bangladesh.

The stats in the Test format are not good at all. He took only 4 wickets with the red ball in his debut match in Centurion. The next three matches, he did not see any wickets.
