Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has called for unity among the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Awami League amid the ongoing political turmoil in the county

“Our enemies will take advantage if there is division among us,” he said while exchanging views with the central leaders of Dhaka district Awami League at Tejgaon district Awami League building on Tuesday afternoon.

Quader said two names in the history of this country are immortal: Bangabandhu and Sheikh Hasina.

“The battle we fought after 1975 was a fight for survival,” he said, adding: “Sheikh Hasina is the biggest achievement of this country since 1975. All development has been achieved under her leadership.”

Awami League leaders and activists were unable to find solace even within the confines of their own homes.

“They killed 22,000 leaders and activists of Awami League,” AL general secretary said.

"What lessons will Awami League learn from those who created fake voters, steal votes, terrorize and seized power?" he asked.

Quader said Awami League leaders and workers are ready to fight communalism and militancy with an iron fist.

"We will burn the hands that bring fire in the name of the movement," he said. “We‍‍`ll break the hands that bring chaos with sticks.”
