BNP leaders and activists delivered anti-election leaflets to residents of Gazipur`s Sreepur today in support of the party`s non-cooperation movement.
They also asked people to boycott the upcoming election in order to ensure the success of the non-cooperation movement.
Leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated parties have been seen distributing leaflets in the area since 11:00 am.
BNP General Secretary of the Gazipur District, Shah Reazul Hannan, said that the party sent out flyers to general people and shops in Sreepur, Kaliganj, and Kapasia, among other locations in the district.
A BNP employee, who wished to remain anonymous, said that he is participating in the program following the party`s directives.
"Most of our leaders are in jail. I haven`t been arrested yet. However, I don`t stay in my house for a long time," he said.
The officer in charge of Sreepur Police Station, Muhammad Shah Zaman, said that he was uninformed of the BNP`s programme.
