Two people were injured and a 50-year-old woman and her granddaughter were killed after a truck struck a three-wheeler in Tongi, Gazipur, on Friday, according to police.
The deceased were identified as Rowshan Ara Begum and her six-month-old granddaughter Raisa Islam. Rita Akhter, the mother of the kid, and Rubel, driver of three-wheeler, both were hurt.
Rowshan and Raisa, who were traveling from Mirerbazar to Station Road in Tongi, were killed on spot after a speeding truck crashed with three-wheeler in the Silmun neighborhood at around 4:30 p.m, according to Ashraful Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tongi East Police Station.
