Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, the speaker of the National Parliament has tested positive for Covid-19.
Chief Whip of the Parliament Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury confirmed this information on Tuesday.
He said that although the Speaker was supposed to attend the function organized on the occasion of Sheikh Russell Day-22 at Sangsad Bhavan, but she could not due to her health condition.
The speaker joined the program virtually as she was infected with Covid. Meanwhile, she distributed the prize to the children virtually.
