The police are conducting a primary search at the entrance of Dhaka in view of the gathering of political parties in the capital on October 28. On Friday morning, several entrances including Kanchpur, Signboard, Postogola, Gabtali were discovered. However, the search will be intensified again after 8 pm, according to several sources of law enforcement.
Police and RAB started search operation from last Thursday. In the presence of a large number of law enforcement, the police are stopping various Dhaka-bound vehicles and interrogating the passengers and searching their luggage. Apart from this, special attention of the police has been observed on various long-distance passenger buses, public transport, private cars, high-speed microbuses, motorcycles going to Dhaka.
Meanwhile, police are also conducting operations at some places in Jatrabari area. Checkposts can be observed in at least 6 places from Kanchpur till Jatrabari. However, due to less traffic, the number of searches has also decreased.
Some passengers were seen checked their identity cards by police to confirm their identity.
Meanwhile, checkposts are seen on both sides in Postogola and Ikuria areas. And along with this check post, pandal and stage of peace rally of Awami League has been constructed. Some Dhaka-bound vehicles were searched there, but nothing untoward has happened so far.
RAB informed that checkposts will be installed at four entrances in Dhaka. Checkposts are Ikuria, Demra Sufia Kamal Bridge, Gabtali, Kuril. There will be police special check posts in Sadarghat and Kamalapur. They will start activating the check post again from 8 pm.
Although the traffic on the highway was less on Friday morning, around 10 am the traffic increased, due to the fact that the vehicles were stopped at the check post and the goods were searched. In the morning, Aminbazar and Ashulia checkposts have been strengthened by law enforcement forces.
RAB-4 members were operating the check post in Jahangirnagar University area on Dhaka-Aricha highway. Apart from this, in Aminbazar area, along with the police, a number of white-clothed law enforcement officers were seen searching the transport.
The Additional Superintendent of Police (Savar Circle) of Dhaka District Police said that there is a rally of two political parties in the capital tomorrow, so the check post operation of the police is going on to ensure that no one can enter Dhaka and create any kind of sabotage or chaos. No one has been detained at the check post so far.
