The much awaited Padma Bridge would not open for regular traffic on the inaugural day on June 25, said Bridge Secretary Manjur Hossain.
He came up with the disclosure while attending a view exchange on the inauguration of the Padma Bridge at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Wednesday.
He said: "Many are waiting to cross the bridge on the inaugural day. But, it won't open for public the same day."
"The bridge would open for public once the Prime Minister leave the spot after inaugurating it. It may open for traffic the next day or anytime on June 25. A notification will be issued in this regard later," he added.
