The inaugural ceremony of the Padma Bridge will be shown all over the country simultaneously. The moment will also be celebrated in all districts of the country. Cultural programs will be organized. Various ceremonial programs will be held on the occasion from 25 June for five days in Dhaka, Munshiganj, Madaripur, Shariatpur and other districts. A laser show will be organized at Hatirjheel in the capital Dhaka.
All the deputy commissioners of various districts have been given necessary directives during a virtual meeting of the cabinet division on Friday. Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam and other officials were present at the meeting.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Padma Bridge on 25 June. The inaugural function will be held at Mawa of Munshiganj and Jajira of Shariatpur. The premier will then address a rally at Shibchar in Madaripur.
The Cabinet Division sent a letter to all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) on 1 June asking them to arrange the show of the inaugural ceremony of the Padma Bridge simultaneously across the country.
As per the instructions, apart from telecasting the opening ceremony a laser show will be organised at Hatirjheel area by Dhaka district administration. There will be cultural programs in the evening. They have been asked to observe the ceremony till 29 June. The next day's event may be held at Suhrawardy Udyan or any other convenient place besides Hatirjheel. The program will have various arrangements including showing video om Padma Bridge.
