It may rain continuously on Eid day: Met Department

It rained in different parts of the country today including the capital. Meteorologists of the Meteorological Department said that such conditions may continue for another three to four days. They said that there may be rain in different parts of the country including the capital on the holy day of Eid-ul-Azha tomorrow.

Meteorologist Omar Faruq told the media on Tuesday evening that it will continue to rain on the day of Eid as it has been raining non-stop for two days. However, the frequency of rain may decrease slightly in the southern region. Temperatures across the country will hover around 35 degrees Celsius.

At 6 pm on Tuesday, the Meteorological Department issued a notification highlighting the weather conditions for the next 24 hours. According to the notification, most places of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions and many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Mymensingh divisions may experience light to moderate rain with gusty winds or thunder. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. According to the weather forecast for the next two days, the possibility of rainfall may increase in Dhaka, Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

According to the Met Department, the rain is mainly in the southern part of the country due to the influence of low pressure and monsoon. As a result, gale-force winds may blow over the North Bay of Bengal and adjacent coastal areas and seaports of Bangladesh.
