Prime minister's ICT affairs adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy, in a recent Facebook post, elucidating upon the corruption and failure of the former BNP government, stated that BNP's only achievement was the commissioning of Tongi Power Station on 3 September 2005 through overhauling. The official plaque was unveiled by the then Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. She unveiled the plaque in Tongi, and on her way back to Dhaka from Tongi to Abdullahpur in Uttara, the power station went off again.
He also added that, in their reign, they couldn't add a single megawatt to the grid. In the disguise of producing electricity, Hawa Bhaban looted billions, as per the commentary in the video posted by him on the timeline of his verified Facebook page.
