The Election Commission has announced that the by-polls to the five parliamentary seats, which fell vacant following the resignation of BNP MP’s, will be held on February 1, 2023.
Md Jahangir Alam, Election Commission Secretary made the disclosure today.
The candidates have to submit nomination papers by January 5. The five constituencies where the by-polls will take place are – Thakurgaon-3, Bogura-4, Bogura-6, Chapainawabganj-2, and Brahmanbaria-2.
The voting will be held through Electronic Voting Machines.
On December 10, the BNP lawmakers announced that they would resign from parliament. The next day, five of the seven BNP lawmakers submitted their resignation to Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
