Police arrested two people today regarding with the murder of constable Amirul Islam Parvez during a clash between law enforcement and BNP men in the capital`s Fakirapool yesterday.
The convicted are- Shamim Reza, convener of Palshbari unit of Jubo Dal, from Gaibandha, and Md Sultan from Demra, according to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media cell.
During the namaz-e-janaja of the murdered constable this afternoon at Rajarbagh Police Lines, DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman said the two were directly involved in the killing.
"We will do everything to ensure highest punishment of those who killed him," DMP commissioner said.
The city police chief said that Amirul sacrificed his life while performing his duties and noted that the DMP would stand by his family.
During yesterday`s clash, two people were killed, including police constable Amirul Islam Parvez, and several others were injured.
