DGHS closes two hospitals, diagnostic centre in Dhaka

Due to anomalies, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) closed two private hospitals in Dhaka.

The two hospitals are Care Hospital and Diagnostic on Iqbal Road in Mohammadpur and Hicare Cardiac and Neuro Hospital in Uttara. 

In addition, the Dhaka Trauma Centre and Specialized Hospital‍‍`s diagnostic lab in the Shyamoli has closed.
In a press release on Wednesday, Dr. Abu Hossain Mainul Ahsan, the director of the DGHS (hospital and clinic), confirmed the information.

The DGHS is inspecting medical facilities in accordance with the directive from the health minister to immediately close any unlicensed, unlawful private hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, and blood banks.

Ten hospitals in the capital were raided by DGHS officials on the second day of the inspection campaign.

In the course of the inspection, Hi-care Orthopaedics and General Hospital in Shyamoli was required to provide explanation for a number of anomalies.

The same-area Islam Diagnostic Center was also forewarned against maintaining incorrectly color-coded trash cans. 

Across the country, the Health Directorate raided 37 hospitals and diagnostic centers on Tuesday, the first day of the drive.
