At least five dengue patients died while 903 others were admitted to different hospitals across the country in 24 hours till Monday (October 24, 2022) morning.
The total number of dengue cases this year is 31,966 of which 8,098 are from outside of Dhaka.
With the new deaths, a total of 118 people died of dengue fever this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the death cases, 69 were in Dhaka, 22 in Cox's Bazar, 13 in Chattogram, five in Barishal, Three each in Mymensingh and Khulna, one each in Narsingdi, Narail and Feni.
A total of 28,650 patients have already been released from hospitals, of them 8,421 are from outside the capital.
At least 3,482 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment, of which 1,192 are from outside of Dhaka.
