Five people have died when a microbus rammed on a three-wheeler on Dhaka-Rangpur Highway in the district.
The deceased are Amzad Hossain, 50, Sirajul Islam, 37, of Taraganj upazila, Ambia Begum, 60, Jahangir Alam, 45 and Nazma Begum, 35, of Gangachhara upazila of the district.
The accident occurred around 7pm on Wednesday near Sanetala Bazar in Sadar upazila of Rangpur district.
Mahbub Morshed, officer-in-charge of Taraganj highway police, confirmed the deaths.
He said:" A Taraganj-bound microbus hit the three-wheeler, leaving three of its occupants dead on the spot and two others injured. Later, the injured succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital."
