PM inaugurated VVIP lounge at Hazrat Shahjalal Int'l Airport

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the newly constructed VVIP lounge at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport before leaving Dhaka for Japan. Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Zahid Tushar confirmed this to the media.

He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the VVIP lounge next to the VIP lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today. Then she left Dhaka for Japan. At 7:56 am, a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines left for Japan with the Prime Minister along with her entourage.

Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Rehana, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Agriculture, Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, State Minister of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and related high-level government officials accompanied Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Besides, a delegation of businessmen also went to Japan with the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will return home on May 9 after her visit to the United States and the United Kingdom from Japan.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. AK Abdul Momen said, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is leaving for Japan at the invitation of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. She will stay there until April 28. During the Prime Minister's visit to Japan, 8 agreements or cooperation memorandums in various sectors including agriculture, metro rail, industrial upgradation, ship recycling are expected to be signed."

The Foreign Minister also said that the Prime Minister will have a courtesy meeting with the Emperor Naruhito of Japan on April 26. In the evening of the same day, she will participate in the official bilateral summit between the heads of government of the two countries at the Japanese Prime Minister's office. The formalities of the summit will conclude with a dinner hosted in the Prime Minister's honor at the Japanese Prime Minister's residence.

On April 27, the Prime Minister will deliver a speech at the Bangladesh Investment Conference as the chief guest at a hotel in Tokyo. On the same day, the head of government will award the 'Friends of Liberation War Honor' to four Japanese citizens for their special contribution in the liberation war.

On the same day, the Prime Minister will attend a civic reception organized by Bangladeshi citizens living in Japan. The Prime Minister will attend some other bilateral meetings and discussions during her visit to Japan. An interview with the prime minister will also be broadcast on Japanese state television.
