A fire broke out at a chemical warehouse in Telihati area of Sreepur upazila in Gazipur. The fire has been doused by nine firefighting units within four hours.
The fire ignited from the bleaching powder warehouse of the factory around 7:15 pm on Wednesday (November 3), according to fire service sources.
In addition to three of Sreepur Fire Service, a total of nine units including Bhaluka and Gazipur have doused the fire.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sreepur Police Station Khandaker Imam Hossain confirmed the mattter to The Report.
According to eyewitnesses and local sources, the windows of a multi-storey building around the factory were shattered by a loud noise at the time of the incident. With a massive outburst, black smoke and flames of fire engulfied the whole area.
No casualties were reported in the incident from the fire service units.
