Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal visited Ruma, Bandarban, on Saturday morning and emphasized the tranquil nature of hill regions, stating that they have long been synonymous with peace.

"There was a breath of peace here. I don‍‍`t want any trouble here," he expressed to reporters upon his arrival.

Addressing the recent incidents, the Home Minister assured that appropriate actions would be taken in accordance with the laws of the country following thorough investigations. "No one will be exempted," he emphasized.

In response to concerns over disturbances in the hilly regions, he reiterated, "The hilly region will not be allowed to be disturbed." Investigations are underway to determine any lapses that may have led to the recent attack.

Bandarban has witnessed a spate of criminal activities, including bank robberies, weapon looting, and attacks on police stations, attributed to the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), a separatist armed organization operating in the hill region. The Home Minister‍‍`s visit aimed to assess the overall situation and strategize measures to address the escalating tensions.
