Fire in Thanchi market, more than 30 shops burnt to ashes

In Bandarban's Thanchi upazila, a terrible fire broke out in the market and more than half a hundred shops were burnt down. The fire started at 8:30 am on Saturday (March 25) and was brought under control at 10:55 am. Two units of Thanchi Fire Service and Civil Defense worked to control the fire.

The fire service official said on the phone from the spot of the fire, "The fire started at a tea shop in the T&T neighborhood of Thanchi Bazar around 8:30 am. On receiving information, two units of Thanchi Fire Station tried to bring the fire under control. The fire was brought under control at 10:55 am with the help of local people and fire-fighters.”

This officer of Thanchi Branch Fire Service and Civil Defense also said, "After the fire was extinguished, the Upazila Executive Officer and the Upazila Chairman are now preparing the details of the fire damage." With reference to them, Ismail Mia said that so far more than 30 shops have been burnt down.
