A fire broke out at a commercial building in the city’s Bijoynagar area on Saturday.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The fire started around 11.40 am at the multi-storey commercial building ‘Zaman Tower’ in the Purana Paltan’s Bijoynagar area, officials said.
"Four fire tenders have been pressed into service," said Md Shahjahan Shikdar, deputy assistant director (media cell) of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
The fire was brought under control around 11.58am. "The origin of the fire is yet to be ascertained," the officer said.
