Dengue cases break all previous single-day records

Dengue fever became a new concern in the country as the coronavirus infection improves progressively. More than three hundred patients are being admitted every day on an average.

As many as 343 new dengue patients were hospitalised on Tuesday breaking all previous records in a single day.

The information was disclosed in a regular press release issued by Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the health department on Tuesday (September 7)

“A total of 343 dengue patients was admitted to different government and private hospitals across the country in last 24 hours. Of them, 286 were in Dhaka while 57 are out of the capital,” the press release read.

Some 1 thousand 281 patients are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country. Of them 1 thousand 133 are admitted in the capital Dhaka while 148 outside the city.

A total of 12 thousand 434 patients have been admitted to different hospitals since January this year. Among them 11 thousand 101 recovered while 52 died.

Health department said, among the patients who were hospitalised in the last 24 hours, most are younger people.

Among the patients who are undergoing treatment 21.1 percent are between the age of 11 and while 25.4 percent are aged from 21-30.
