The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) arrested a 25-year-old Bangladeshi national from along the Khamarbhati border in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat on Tuesday, reports UNB.
The arrestee is Naimul Islam, resident of Khamarbhati area under Chandrapur union of the upazila.
Locals claimed him to be involved in drug smuggling across the border.
He was arrested near the main pillar-913 at Khamarbhati border area by the Chitra camp battalion of BSF with bottles of Phensedyl, said locals.
Lt. Colonel Ahmed Bazlur Rahman, commander of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), confirmed that they have heard that a Bangladeshi youth was captured by the Indian BSF.
BGB would go into a conversation with BSF in this regard, he said.
