Globally renowned US actor Angelina Jolie and popular musician The Weeknd were spotted having a friendly dinner in Los Angeles on June 30. The celebrities were photographed leaving the posh Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi on Wednesday night.
Their fans are speculating that the two celebs might have started dating.
Yet, several Hollywood based media outlets have reported the Oscar-winning actor, 46, and the Grammy winner, 31, have known each other for some time and were there at a meeting about Ethiopia.
In April, the singer announced he had partnered with the World Food Program US and was donating $1 million to relief efforts in Ethiopia where there is unrest between the government in Addis Ababa and the Tigray region.
In 2005, Jolie adopted her daughter Zahara, now 16, from Ethiopia and has since launched ‘The Zahara Program,’ a non-profit which helps young girls in the East African region.
According to several media reports, both of them are planning to work together in that region within a few years.
Previously, The Weeknd ventured into acting, by playing a role in Adam Sandler's ‘Uncut Gems’ and co-writing and starring in an episode of ‘American Dad’ last year.
The singer is also set to produce, co-write and star in a new HBO drama series called ‘The Idol.’
