Snyder Cut gets a release date

DC movies has always been known for their darker tone and depth of stories. The Dark Knight trilogy alone is a testimony to that but it’s not fair mentioning Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed trilogy since it is not part of the DCEU (DC Extended Universe).

While the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) took their time before making a movie where the heroes come together (Avengers), DC rushed to the project and ended up making Justice League (2017) which received mostly mixed or negative reviews.

There are many reasons for that. For one thing, dedicated fans believed that as soon as Zack Snyder had to leave for personal reasons and the responsibilities were given to Joss Whedon, the core theme of the film was corrupted since Snyder and Whedon have very different styles.

After the theatrical release of the Justice League movie, fans were not pleased and demanded something called ‘The Snyder Cut’. Initially, existence of such a copy was denied but as it turns out, not only does it exist, it’s here.

The release date has been confirmed by WarnerMedia to be- March 18, 2021. With about a month left to the big day, Zack Snyder has shared an exclusive first look at Jared Leto’s joker on his twitter account. Jared Leto played the iconic villain in ‘Suicide Squad’ but as fans will remember, he was absent in the theatrical release of the Justice League movie. It’s predicted that he will have a small screen time in the Snyder cut but it remains to be seen if the character is presented any differently than the other movies.
