Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah was laid to rest at his family graveyard in his village home at Gotia under Shaghata upazila of Gaibandha on Monday afternoon.
His last namaz-e-janaza was held at Bharatkhali School ground of the upazila around 3:00 pm.
His second namaz-e-janaza was held at 10:30 am today at the National Eidgah in the capital.
Before the janaza, he was given a state "guard of honour' by the Dhaka Deputy Commissioner's office.
Later, floral wreaths were placed at his coffin on behalf of President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Earlier today, his body arrived on an Emirates flight from New York at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 8:40am.
He passed away at the age of 76 on July 23, at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
