BNP leaders Khasru, Swapan remanded for six days

Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the BNP standing committee, and Zahir Uddin Swapan, the convener of the party‍‍`s media cell, were placed on six-day remand by a Dhaka court on Friday. 

The case is related to the murder of a constable during a brawl of party‍‍`s October 28 grand rally.

The order was issued by Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zaki Al Farabi following the appearance of Khasru and Swapan before the court along with a 10-day remand prayer for each by Detective Branch Inspector Md Tariqul Islam who is the case‍‍`s investigating office, as revealed to media by Taherul Islam Tauhid, one of their attorneys.

The duo BNP leaders were being shown arrested in the case earlier and arrested early in the day from Gulshan area.

Making BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Alamgir prime accused in a case against 164 persons filed with Paltan Model Police Station on October 28.

Four persons, including Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas, have been taken into custody by the police thus far.
