Demanding salary and Eid bonus, workers of Keya Knit Composite Limited in Konabari Jarun area of Gazipur blocked a road earlier today.
Sumon Mia, administrative officer of the factory, said the workers are owed salary for the month of February. It has been announced that all their dues will be paid before Eid. Still, they did not join work and took to the streets, he said.
KM Ashraf Uddin, officer-in-charge of Konabari Police Station, confirmed the matter.
Police went to the spot and asked them to move away from the road. After talks with the workers, they were taken to the factory, and the situation is normal now, the OC said.
