US Assistant Foreign Minister Afreen Akhter has arrived in Dhaka on a three-day visit. She arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12 pm on Monday.
Afreen Akhter will also visit the Rohingya shelter camp in addition to holding various meetings in Dhaka this time.
In this visit, she will reiterate the position of the United States regarding free and fair elections in Bangladesh.
She will meet with Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen on Monday.
She will visit Cox`s Bazar Rohingya refugee camp on Tuesday. Afreen Akhter will travel Bangladesh till October 18.
Before this, Afrin came to Dhaka last May. This is his second visit to Bangladesh in 6 months.
